IN 2008, Bruce was awarded a first prize in the professional category at the 2nd annual city of Portland national arts program exhibit for his entry "back bay sunrise." Also in 2008, Bruce was commissioned by the New England Chapter of the FBI National Academy to paint a portrait of Special Agent Edwin Shanahan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the FBI. The finished painting titled: "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity" was presented to the Boston division SAC Warren Bamford at the FBINAA New England Chapter Christmas Party on December 4th. The portrait now hangs at FBI Headquarters in Boston.
